Turkish Markets

For those guests interested in experiencing a little Turkish culture, then it is well worth spending a few hours at a local ‘Pazar’ or market. Turkish Markets or “Pazar” are common events throughout the country and well worth a visit. Many towns and villages hold them once a week and they give local farmers chance to sell their produce.

The fresh fruit, vegetables, honey, nuts and spices, together with inexpensive prices (supermarkets have yet to take control) make it a very popular choice with locals and a chance for the visitor to purchase fresh, organic produce. You will also often find local clothes & shoes, flower and antique sellers here as well. So, if spending a few days in one place, ask your hotel or “pension” owner about it and go and enjoy the experience.
