A quick belated note to say thanks for your help, kindness, nice meals and hospitality during my Lycian Way trek. Have been telling people what a great holiday it is.
Türkiye’s Mediterranean Coast has something for everyone, beautiful scenery, pretty coastal towns & villages, stunning beaches & impressive ancient ruins & history.
Take time to explore the region, cities and larger towns such as Fethiye and Antalya. You can enjoy the regular markets, welcoming restaurants and cafes as well as the pretty harbours where you can take daily boat trips to nearby islands. There are many smaller places to explore such as the village of Kayakoy with its ruins and deserted Greek city where author Louis de Bernières got his inspiration for the best-selling book ‘Birds Without Wings’. Popular seaside resorts such as Kaş and Kalkan are great places to take a leisurely walk around & enjoy some retail therapy.
Nearby are ancient ruins such as Xanthos, Pinara and Letoon, where you can view the fascinating remains of Lycian, Greek & Roman Civilisations.
There is a choice of beautiful, unspoilt beaches of white sand & turquoise sea at places such as Olu Deniz, Patara and Kaputaş.
It is also the gateway to one of the world’s top ten hiking routes, ‘The Lycian Way’, providing over 500 kms of great hiking.
For the more adventurous you can cycle, paraglide, dive, kayak, sail and windsurf your way around the region. Turkey’s Mediterranean Coast really has something for everyone to enjoy.
