Entering Turkey – The e-Visa
Besides your Passport, everyone entering Turkey must also have a valid visa which ‘permits entry into and travel within Turkey’.
It used to be that people visiting Turkey from other countries would fill in visa application forms before going to the visa desks at airports across Turkey. The visa fee is then paid and a visa sticker is put in your passport. After which you would head over to the passport desk to get the visa stamped. Then be free to head off and collect your luggage. Now the authorities have made the process much simpler and you can apply for your visa online beforehand.
