Upon arrival at the airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Cappadocia.
Our first place to see in Cappadocia’s impressive landscape is a structure named “Üç Güzeller” ( Three Graces). After that, we will head to the Devrent valley where the rock formations are amazing. Then we will go to the Paşabağları fairy chimneys.
From here, we will pause at Avanos, a centre of ceramic art since 2,000 BC. We will watch a demonstration in a traditional pottery workshop. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.
After lunch in Avanos, we visit the famous Göreme Open Air Museum to see the best examples of Byzantine art in Cappadocia. These are found in rock-carved churches with frescoes and paintings dating back to the 10th century. At the end of the tour, we will return back to the hotel.
After breakfast, we start the tour with a visit to Kaymakli underground city: the largest of its kind in Cappadocia. Right after the Kaymakli underground city, we will visit the breathtaking Pigeon Valley where early settlers made pigeon nests within the natural rock formations to collect pigeon fertilisers to use in farming. From there we will visit a local handwoven rug/carpet shops where our guests can see famous handwoven Turkish rugs and carpets.
Lunch will be at a local restaurant. After lunch we will move on to visit a winery to taste some of the finest wines grown and made locally, which have been a part of the Cappadocian tradition for thousands of years. After this, we will return to the hotel to get ready for an evening of fun and entertainment at a local restaurant that will be reserved strictly for our guests. The evening will include dining plus live music and an oriental belly dancer. After this special event, we will return back to the hotel.
On the last day of the tour, our first stop is the Soğanlı Valley, an open-air museum that is a typical Cappadocian village. After this, we drive to Sobesos, an ancient city from Roman times. We then visit the Keşlik Monastery near Cemil village, a place that hides its frescoes behind a very thin smoke layer that can only be seen by torchlight.
After lunch in Mustafapaşa at an old Greek house hosted by a local family, we finish our tour by visiting a
stone shop where our guests can see beautiful stones and gems beautifully placed on jewellery. At the end of the tour we will return back to the hotel.
